This lodge lies in the Zanzibar Channel of the Indian Ocean, just 2 km offshore from mainland Bagamoyo between Dar es Salaam and Saadani National Park. It is an idyllic Robinson Crusoe island with 9km of deserted beach.  There is also a nature reserve which is home to many small mammals, mangrove trees and patches of indigenous forest. The island is protected by a coral reef. It is an hour by road from Dar es Salaam plus a short motor boat trip across the 2km stretch of sea.

Bird life and flowers are abundant on the island and wild pigs, genets, baboon, bush babies, duiker and suni antelope are to be found here.

There are 12 beach bandas with twin or double beds with upper loft lounge area or bedroom accommodation for children.  Each has a private shaded veranda. Electricity is supplied by generator.

Activities include dhow safaris, sailing in the islands own sailing dinghy, boating, swimming, snorkelling, nature trails, kayaking to explore the lagoon and mangrove forest, cultural visits to Bagamoyo or fishing with the local fishermen.
